As a teacher, my aim is to equip students of varying backgrounds and experience with the tools and resources necessary to be self-directed, motivated, and curious. While such values are especially vital to a career in the arts, they are also transferable to many other fields and aspects of pursuing meaningful work.
As of fall 2022, I am the Assistant Professor of Clarinet at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. I also maintain a private studio in the South Texas area and online. I served as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Clarinet for the fall 2019 semester at Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, VA, and I have taught at Interlochen Arts Camp, the University of Washington, Bard College’s Music Program, and in the greater Washington, DC region.

“Caitlin was an incredibly supportive teacher. Not only did she keep me on track and bring music I was excited to practice, she helped me realize my peak potential as a player and responsible member of any ensemble. Her advice led me far!”
-Eva Grunblatt, Bard College
“Professor Beare was very helpful in finding repertoire that suited me as a musician, while also pushing my limits and helping me grow. She is clearly skilled in guiding students to hear repertoire in new ways, a skill that I hope to be able to take into my teaching later in my career.”
-Nathan Speir, BM Music Education ’21, Shenandoah Conservatory
“Working with Professor Beare was refreshing. She offered a different perspective on clarinet that ultimately helped me in my practice habits that I still use!”
-Jalen Mims, BM Music Performance ’23, Shenandoah Conservatory
